Hot Wheels Steadman introduces new nickname for Hockey

Dateline: September 22, 2009.  This morning, Volcanoes F.C. football star William "Hot Wheels" Steadman announced that he would be adopting a new nickname for his hockey career.  "I'll still be known as 'Hot Wheels' when I play football," he explained.  "But on the ice, I'm to be referred to as 'Bakugan.'"

"What the heck is a Back-u-gone?" asked his sleep-deprived father, on the way to school.

"BAKUGAN!  BAKUGAN!  It's cool!  Have you no idea what is cool?  How old are you?"  responded Hot Wheels Steadman.

"Bakugan?  It sounds like an infectious disease" responded father. "Like, 'I knew this really hot girl in college, but she ended up giving me a bad case of bakugan.'  or  'Don't drink the water in Mexico, or you'll end up with Bakugan and have to take penicillin for two weeks.'"

"You are an idiot." was the only response that his father got.

This reporter has learned that Bakugan refers to transformer-like robot creatures called Bakugan which are possessed by battle brawlers. Consisting of fifty-one episodes, Bakugan Battle Brawlers debuted in Japan on TV Tokyo in 2007.   The Bakugan Battle Brawlers apparently consist of seven children: Dan, Shun, Runo, Marucho, Julie, Alice, and later Joe. Together they learn more about the origin of Bakugan, the game involving them, and battle against Hal-G and Naga.
